Jose Magana had fallen into the world of gangs and addiction. Amid his struggles, he had an encounter with Christ, putting him on a new path. His recovery was fraught with intense challenges, including the urge to commit suicide. Jose overcame his addiction and has now been sober for 29 years. He has since become a brother Knight and a regional growth director for the Knights of Columbus, and he believes his work to be a vocation, one of evangelization. Jim Wahlberg’s youth was filled with brokenness. In his formative years, he learned how to steal cars, break and enter, became homeless by age 12, and succumbed to addiction. After becoming a ward of the state and serving multiple prison terms, a chance meeting with Mother Teresa while incarcerated changed the trajectory of his life, beginning his path back to Christ.
